You may not have known this but the anthropomorphic white duck Scrooge McDuck has a history as a treasure hunter and businessman. Carl Barks first created the character in 1947. He is based on Ebenezer Scrooge.

In the Disney animated series, Businessman Scrooge McDuck is a self-proclaimed adventure capitalist and a rich business magnate. Scrooge is a self-described linguist who learns many languages on business trips. His exploits range from selling refrigerators to the Eskimos to selling wind to windmill manufacturers in the Netherlands.

Scrooge McDuck is a treasure hunter

Scrooge McDuck is based on the character Ebenezer Scrooge, a wealthy businessman who is always on the lookout for treasure. He often uses his cane as both a weapon and a travel device. In this way, the audience gets a glimpse into the mind of a real treasure hunter.

Scrooge McDuck is a school drop-out

Although he has a dark past, Scrooge is not a bad person. He is often a lone wolf and a social misfit. But his character is more than just a school drop-out.
